My first task will be to measure and pair-match my recently rebuilt JR149s as best I can - there is a crossover trim pot that I've just got set centrally as I've no idea where is flattest and all bets are off given I've replaced all four drivers with brand new and fully recapped them. There are only two proper measurement USB mics (with individual calibration files) that I know of.the UMIK and the Dayton Audio USB Mic which is much the same thing.I've been using the latter for a long time now and it's really very good.Be aware that you'll get room effects colouring the measurements for anything but impulse signal generation. I'd like to get it as flat as I possibly can and then see whether I like it that way!You'll be able to use the UMIK for exaclty the purpose you stated. I'm finding it exceptionally hard to set them by ear, especially the phase though I can hear it makes a difference. I'm pretty certain I've got the mid horn where I want it, but the sub setting is certainly up for grabs. It's a four-way speaker system where I can adjust two drivers.After some fiddling with levels in the REW preference panel I soon had everything about right (the mic seems to want to be set up full in OS X system prefs -> sound, it took me a while to figure that out). REW detected the mic and asked me if I wanted to use it, then asked for the calibration file, so that was all painless. I grabbed the calibration file from the MiniDSP site, plugged it in and started up REW. All rather more solid than I was expecting for the cash. With no smoothing it looks like a small and rather troubled child with a crayon has been scribbling all over the paper, as does the phase response (which I turned off for the screenshot).I had no pops, clicks screeches or anything.
